Difference: My Subtle Coherence

Bloody expensive shit I’m working towards

First up…

Canon Powershot S95

Some notes:
Tiny camera, fits snuggly into the pocket, BRILLIANT with the f2.0 aperture with something new for me: 1080p HD video. Trying to look for a decent set as well. Can’t really be using some huge ass camera all the time anyway (prom, hur hur). PC show here I come!

Projected cost: 500 to 650 bloody buckaroos.

Next…

Nikon FM2 + Nikkor MF 50mm f/1.2 AI-S

Some notes:
Already do own the FM2n (thank goodness), but the 28mm I’m using has some irritating clouding that’s totally destroying every picture I’m taking on film. The hunt for a decent piece of that 50mm glass is even harder to come by considering how legendary it used to be (and still is) – sharpest, meanest manual focus Nikon has ever produced.

Projected cost: 500 – 700 bloody buckaroos for the piece of glass.

And of course, finally… a dream set come true…

Leica M6 “Classic” + Summicron-M 35mm f/2.0 pre-ASPH “Bokeh King”

Some notes:
This. Is. It.

Goddamn expensive rangefinder system that I’ve never used (and probably never) until recently considering that if I were to sell everything, this may just be affordable. As will any purist would argue, why not the M3? Guess as a rangefinder newbie, the M6 would be better handled with TTL metering. Not forgetting to mention that the piece of glass attached onto it is the legendary “Bokeh King”. The very thought of this excites me.

Projected cost: 2.7k for that, tiny piece of glass. Another 2k for that piece of camera.

This is a bloody bomb.

Well if I’m going to ditch my entire DSLR system, this is what I’m probably gonna get. Starting small with the S95.
A gobstopping SIX thousand dollars, on 2 classic cameras and a PNS.

Many see it as a downgrade, I see it as an exploration. Thoughts?
